CHICAGO – State Senator Lakesia Collins joined Governor JB Pritzker, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Amrize leadership to celebrate the company’s new Chicago headquarters.
“Locating Amrize’s operational headquarters in Chicago is a strong vote of confidence in Illinois’ business climate,” said Collins (D-Chicago). “This investment will create good-paying jobs, strengthen our local economy, and reinforce our position as a hub for innovation.”
Amrize, North America’s leader in advanced building solutions, serves clients across the United States and Canada. Amrize is North America’s largest cement manufacture, second largest commercial roofing provider, and a leader in construction aggregates and ready-mix concrete.
In Illinois, Amrize has over 450 employees and 15 operations, including Chicago landmarks such as the Chicago Riverwalk, Maggie Daley Park, and a number of iconic skyscrapers.
“Amrize locating its headquarters in Chicago is further proof that Illinois is the best place to live, work and do business,” said DCEO Director Kristin Richards. “State incentives will support the company’s investments in Illinois – nearly doubling its employee base as it expands its reach as one of North America’s largest building materials companies.”
Amrize has committed to making an $18.6 million investment, nearly doubling the size of its Chicago employee base by creating 50 new full-time jobs and retaining 62 full-time jobs.
Collins continues to advocate for new business development and opportunities throughout her district.
