SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Rachel Ventura led a resolution through the Senate to declare a day in Illinois to recognize child care providers.
“As a mother, I see the selfless dedication of child care providers and all they do to keep our children safe,” said Ventura (D-Joliet). “It truly does take a village to help raise children, and for single parents, they can be a much needed lifeline.”
Senate Resolution 896 recognizes May 10, 2024 as Child Care Provider Appreciation Day.
Child Care Aware of America and other related organizations recognize and appreciate the important work of Illinois' child care providers on May 10 each year. Provider Appreciation Day is celebrated annually the Friday before Mother’s Day to recognize child care providers, teachers and other educators of young children everywhere.
“Whether you have direct contact with a provider or not, providers have touched all of our lives in some fashion and provide much-needed stability in daily life,” said Ventura. “I thank these professionals for the tireless and often thankless work they do day in and day out.”
Senate Resolution 896 was adopted by the Senate on Thursday.
