CHICAGO – State Senator Martin A. Sandoval (D-Chicago) has urged all elected officials from the local dog catcher to the U.S. Senate to condemn President Donald Trump’s calamitous and farcical meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week.

“I speak specifically to my Republican friends when I say our country needs you right now. No matter who you are or at what level you serve, our nation needs you to denounce this president and his actions in the strongest terms,” Sandoval said.

Sandoval 070918 ReleaseCHICAGO – While thousands of immigrant children remain in U.S. detention camps alone, scared and separated from their families, news has broken that Gov. Bruce Rauner continues to profit from their plight.

State Senator Martin A. Sandoval (D-Chicago) has condemned the governor and called for him to divest from the detention centers and issue a more forceful rebuke of President Donald Trump’s inhumane border policies.

Sandoval to Trump: Reunite parents with children immediately

sandoval 062018CHICAGO – State Senator Martin A. Sandoval (D-Chicago) has urged President Donald Trump to bring an immediate end to the separation of children from their parents at the U.S. border.

“There’s no other way to say it: This policy is horrifying,” Sandoval said. “These people come to the United States of America seeking asylum in what is supposed to be a land of opportunity and they have their children ripped from their arms. This has to stop.”

Sandoval, the son of Mexican immigrants, has spent much of the summer speaking at graduations from the elementary to high school level.

Sen. Martin A. SandovalSPRINGFIELD – Recent atrocities have highlighted a need for greater security at large-scale public events, and a plan by Senator Martin A. Sandoval (D-Chicago) in the Illinois Senate is working on providing it.

Sandoval’s Senate Bill 2562 would give law enforcement the authority to use drones to prepare for or monitor security at large-scale events like concerts or rallies. The measure passed out of the Senate this week.
