Illinois anglers urged to renew fishing licenses

011 75x75On March 31st, all 2011 Illinois Resident Fishing Licenses will expire. Anglers are urged to obtain their 2012 Illinois Fishing License in order to continue fishing on Illinois waters.

The Resident Fishing License, available for $15, allows legal residents of Illinois who have the license to sport fish on Illinois waters. Also available are various stamps, such as the Lake Michigan Salmon Stamp and the Inland Trout Stamp, which are needed to sport fish for those species.

Also available are commercial licenses, which allow the licensee to sell their catch.

By purchasing a fishing license, anglers are helping to fund programs to protect our waterways, making certain that future generations are able to enjoy the outdoors.
