Chicago part of Cities for Citizenship program

citizenship092514Chicago recently joined LA and New York in an initiative encouraging legal immigrants to become citizens.

Citigroup is making a $1.1 million contribution for the expansion of the naturalization programs in these three cities as a part of the Cities for Citizenship program.

Naturalization leads to an array of opportunities. It allows new citizens to gain access to better jobs, academic scholarships and other benefits, while the cities they live in benefit from their economic contributions.
