Stadelman welcomes Miss Illinois County Fair Queen

stadelman 031919SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Steve Stadelman (D-Rockford) was joined in Springfield today by students advocating on behalf of agriculture, including current Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Alexi Bladel of Winnebago County.

“It was an absolute honor to introduce the first ever Miss Winnebago County Fair who became Miss Illinois County Fair Queen to the Illinois Senate,” Stadelman said. “It’s wonderful to see someone so young who cares so deeply about her state and hometown.” 

While addressing the Senate, Bladel advocated for access to programs such as Future Farmers of America and 4-H for every school, as well as empowering women in agriculture through education and encouragement.

Bladel joined students from all over the state for their annual Agricultural Legislative Day, where students travel to Springfield to meet with their legislators and advocate for issues concerning agriculture.
