Jacobs receives YMCA Hero’s award

JacobsYMCAHeroSenator Mike Jacobs (D-Moline) has received the 2014 YMCA Legislative Hero Award, as a symbol of gratitude for his years of dedication to the YMCA, local youth and teens, and to his community. In a ceremony held in Springfield, the Senator showed his gratitude during his acceptance speech.

For years, Senator Jacobs has been a staunch supporter of the YMCA facilities throughout his district and the programs that they provide to young people and teens.  Senator Jacobs has always been very helpful to the YMCA in getting capital funding released and projects completed, according a representative from the YMCA who further stated, his values have always been aligned with the Y.

"The YMCA has been an institutional part of many families for generations," Senator Jacobs said. "It is an honor to receive the Legislative Hero Award from them and to know that my support and hard work has made a difference in the lives of young people in my district and Northwestern Illinois."
