Sen. Aquino reacts to federal judge’s DACA ruling

aquino 021717Senator Omar Aquino (D-Chicago) issued the following statement in response to the ruling by a federal judge giving the Department of Homeland Security 90 days to provide the legal rationale behind the administration’s decision to cancel the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:

“I celebrate the decision of Judge Bates that rejects the elimination of DACA by the Trump administration. In 90 days, the government may restart taking new applications. In a country where all residents are equal before the law, there is no place for President Trump’s discrimination and reckless impulses."
